ANNUAL TIM MORRISON MINI-GOLF TOURNAMENT PUTTS A HOLE-IN-ONE
More Than $7,000 Raised to Support United Way of Cayuga County Mission
Auburn, New York, April 24, 2025 – The United Way of Cayuga County brought together more than 300 community members at the Holiday Inn for the Broadway themed, 32nd Annual Tim Morrison Mini-Golf Tournament Presented by Nucor Steel. With the addition of Weedsport business, Live A Little Boutique, this is the first time in more than a decade that the tournament featured at least one business with headquarters in all three major regions of Cayuga County: North, Central, and South.
Between team registrations, 50/50 and raffle table sales, water station tips, and sponsorships, the Tim Morrison Mini-Golf raised more than $7,000 to support the United Way of Cayuga County’s mission.
Each year, local businesses in and around Cayuga County construct Mini-Golf holes to create the 18-hole course with a bonus hole in the courtyard’s pool. Fifty-three teams made their way through the course. This year, more than 30 raffle items were donated and tournament attendees spent more than $1,300 on 50/50 and raffle tickets to win items like Member’s Mark Barrel Charcoal Grill, handmade bird houses, date night packages, and so much more.
With a score of 38, Captain Landon McCarthy and his team from Mozaic are the 2025 Tournament Champions. Our panel of judges crowned MacKenzie-Childs team, The Checkered Revolution, as the Best Broadway Attire with their Hamilton inspired costumes. These two teams won a prize package donated by Prison City Brewing that includes swag, beer, and gift cards.
Golfers voted and honored Baxter International with the Best Hole Design this year. Then known as Welch Allyn, Baxter has been one of two Hole Architects to be a part of every tournament since 1994. Hole Captain, Kevin Muirhead shares “Baxter takes great pride in both supporting and working alongside our local United Way, we are delighted just to be a part of such a wonderful event.”
Additional prizes were awarded to the 5:00pm Flight Champs, Classic Cones and the 6-6:30pm Flight Champs, Army. Best Broadway themed Team Name went to Bye Bye Birdie, a team from Unity House, for their seamless connection of Broadway and golf.

This year’s tournament was missing a familiar face—William “Bill” McSweeney, a long-time supporter of the annual tournament who served as the Auburn Correctional Facility Hole Architect coordinator, passed away unexpectedly in late March. In memory of Bill’s dedication to the community, a donation jar was set out and these dollars have been sent to Bill’s hometown fire department where he once volunteered for 15 years before joining his local town council.
