Your Dollars in Action

Annually, more than 50% of Cayuga County residents turn to a United Way funded program or service. Thanks to the generosity of our neighbors last year, gifts are supporting 24 Member Agencies. Within those agencies, past dollars are supporting 33 distinct programs and services in the areas of  Education, Health, Financial Stability, and Safety Net Needs.

Gifts, both small and large, are paired together to lend a hand to our friends and neighbors. As we enter The Next 100 Years, your support is more critical than ever to meet emerging and growing needs in our community. Did you know that in Cayuga County there are 32,392 households? If each household gave just $23.16 we would surpass our goal by almost $200. Giving together, giving united creates long-lasting, positive change.

Your United Way dollars hit the ground running by supporting program needs. Did you know that for a one-time, $50 gift you subsidize the cost of healthy and nutritious snacks at afterschool and teen programs? Or help cover the cost of a comprehensive substance abuse use disorder evaluation to help individuals get on track toward a healthy, substance free life?

For just $100, your gift can provide a quarterly food or utility voucher to a struggling family in our community—as we enter the winter months, many rely on this support. Your gift also connects at-risk youth ages 5-14, to a mentor and role model through either a school-based or community program.

Your quarterly payment of just $65 equips individuals with sensory loss with the tools they need to remain at home such as a video hand held magnifier for someone who is visually impaired. Your dollars also cover the cost to deploy emergency response vehicles to deliver meals, snacks, relief supplies, information, and comfort to individuals and families who just suffered a natural disaster or house fire.

When you make a monthly gift of $45 you ensure our neighbors have access to transportation, ensuring their independence and allowing them to reside in their homes. Your support also subsidizes tuition costs for music and performing arts camps, summer camp, and scouting.

In short—when you support the United Way of Cayuga County, you are helping pave the path to brighter futures for more than half of our neighbors.
