Leadership Giving
Programs designed to involve influential leadership; to encourage major giving and to develop new resources to help build a better community. United Way recognizes individuals whose annual personal investment exemplifies outstanding commitment to making a lasting impact. Members of these societies play a major role in improving the quality of people's lives in our county.

Alexis de Tocqueville Society
This Society is named after a 19th century French aristocrat who praised our country's spirit of volunteerism and philanthropy. This Society is comprised of community leaders who make an annual gift of $10,000 or more to United Way, setting an extraordinary example of generosity for others to follow. There are currently 4 members of the Alexis de Tocqueville Society in our community.

The Everett Society
This Society is named after Fred and Ora Everett. The Everett's were prominent Auburn citizens in the mid 1900's who where dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents of Auburn and Cayuga County. This was also their vision for future generations. Their legacy to the community was the Everett Trust which, to this day, generously supports many community endeavors. One of their mainstays was, and remains, the United Way of Cayuga County. The Everett Society consists of Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze members who make an annual gift between $500 - $9,999 to United Way and who are committed to carrying on the Everett's legacy and generosity. There are over 350 members of the Everett Society in our community.
